Less than two weeks to go until this year’s NHS Scotland Event – taking place Tuesday 21 June and Wednesday 22 June at the P&J Live in Aberdeen.
If you haven’t already done so, make sure to register your place at this year’s Event and experience our first in-person Event since 2019 – and our first time in Aberdeen.
The NHS Scotland Event is delighted to be working alongside a number of organisations in Aberdeenshire to enhance the delegate experience for 2022.
NHS Grampian, along with the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University are hosting two separate evening events on Tuesday 21 June – offering the chance for delegates to unwind, network and enjoy an informal gathering with colleagues after a busy day at the Event.
The evening events will both take place from 19:00 – 21:00 and must be booked in advance in order to secure your place. Please see below for further details.
Evening Event - Robert Gordon University
Developing Health and Social Care Professionals
Robert Gordon University (RGU) is delighted to invite NHS Scotland Event delegates to attend a networking reception at their riverside campus in Garthdee. RGU is rated the top modern University in Scotland and the UK due to their applied learning, strong health and social care partnership links and state-of-the-art facilities.
At the reception, delegates will have the opportunity to meet with senior leadership teams from their Schools within the subjects of healthcare and social sciences who will showcase some of the innovative teaching, learning and research outputs within the schools. There will also be the opportunity to visit the simulated skills environments and meet some of the University’s health and social care students.
Professor Alex McMahon, Chief Nursing Officer, Alison Strath, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer, Carolyn McDonald, Chief Allied Health Professions Officer and Catherine Ross, Chief Healthcare Science Officer will also be in attendance.

Evening Event - University of Aberdeen
In addition to hearing about the University of Aberdeen’s proud history, Professor Siladitya Bhattacharya (MD, FRCOG), Head of School & Dugald Baird Chair in Women's Health at the University of Aberdeen, will talk to delegates about the virtuous circle of research and improving health care that the University enjoys with NHS Grampian and the richness gained from teaching undergraduates in healthcare delivery environments.
Building on the theme of partnership, Dr Adam Coldwells (PhD) Director of Strategy & Deputy Chief Executive NHS Grampian will discuss the collaborative work that is ongoing between NHS Grampian and the University of Aberdeen. Dr Coldwells will also set out the scale of the sustainability challenge faced by the Health Board and its inclusion in NHS Grampian’s ‘Plan for the Future’.
Mr Humza Yousaf MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Caroline Lamb Chief Executive of NHS Scotland and Director General Health and Social Care, and Professor Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director will also be in attendance.

Please note, transport is provided to the venues only. Delegates are asked that they make their own travel arrangements when leaving the evening events.
