All resources from the NHS Scotland Event 2023 are now available on the Event website. This includes filmed footage of all Plenary and Mini Plenary sessions, as well as presentations from all sessions.
This year’s Event took place on Monday 19 June at the SEC in Glasgow.
The focus for this year’s Event was on Recovery and Renewal of our Health and Care Services, and delegates had the opportunity to hear from a number of inspiring speakers sharing their experiences and stories from across the service, as well as describing the challenges faced over the last few years.
Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care welcomed delegates to the Event in the opening Plenary session and described his key priorities in tackling those challenges. The Cabinet Secretary also took part in an informal interview on the main stage with Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director giving delegates an insight into his life, career and future ambitions for the NHS.
Delegates also heard from Professor Sir Gregor Smith, Chief Medical Officer who launched his latest Annual Report, which this year focuses on the value and sustainability of health and care services, the fundamental causes of health inequalities and the current disparity in healthy life expectancy in Scotland.
This year’s Event included a 75th Anniversary reception to mark this milestone year for the NHS in Scotland – allowing delegates the opportunity to raise a toast to all of our incredible staff and volunteers.
The 2023 Event programme featured plenary sessions, mini plenary sessions, parallel sessions, spotlight sessions as well as a lunchtime session.
All filmed content and presentations from all sessions and an image gallery are now available to view on the NHS Scotland Event website here.
