Julie Jones
Clinical Academic Fellow, Robert Gordon University
Julie Jones is a Clinical Academic Fellow, jointly funded by Parkinson’s UK and the Chief Scientist Office, and is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy, at Robert Gordon University (RGU), Aberdeen. Julie is currently undertaking a PhD exploring the feasibility and acceptability of a collaborative approach to exercise delivery for people with Parkinson’s in the Northeast of Scotland.
Julie is involved in a number of projects locally and nationally aiming to promote physical activity among the Parkinson’s community. Julie is the Chair of the Lottery Funded Parkinson Active project in Scotland, and has been integral to the training and development of exercise professionals to promote access to physical activity for people with Parkinson’s. As Co-lead of the Parkinson’s Excellence Network Exercise Hub and a member of the Parkinson’s UK Strategic Advisory Committee in Scotland, she is involved in the shaping and development of services for people with Parkinson’s.
Julie continues to practice as a physiotherapist and is a Scottish board member of the chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) as well as a CSP professional advisor. She has worked at RGU for over fifteen years where she has held both academic and leadership roles.
