Amanda McKay
Parkinson’s Active Project Support Officer, Parkinson’s UK
Amanda McKay is the Project Support Officer for the Parkinson's Active project, run by Parkinson's UK, in Scotland. This is a three year lottery funded project which aims to provide more opportunities for people with Parkinson's to exercise and be active in their local community.
Amanda's role is to work with local leisure providers, exercise instructors and Health and Social Care Professionals to provide and promote access to exercise and activity programmes that meet the needs of people with Parkinson's. People with Parkinson’s tell us that instructors who are knowledgeable about the condition and being with other people with Parkinson's is hugely important and beneficial.
