Emily Broadis

Emily studied medicine at Glasgow University, completed her Basic Surgical Training in the West of Scotland, and continued into Higher Surgical Training in Paediatric Surgery, achieving Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2014.  In 2008 - 2009 she volunteered as Honorary Visiting Clinical Lecturer in Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Malawi.  Motivated by her experiences, she co-founded a Paediatric Burn and Scald Prevention programme, funded by UKAid, which demonstrated a reduction in the incidence and mortality of paediatric burn and scald injuries in Southern Malawi.

Pursuing her passion to address health inequality, sustainable development and global health, Emily completed a Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellowship, and a Masters of Public Health, and is currently training in Public Health in NHS Ayrshire and Arran where she took up the role as clinical lead for the drone innovation partnership with the CAELUS project.  She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and a member of the Faculty of Public Health.
