Donald Macaskill

Dr Donald Macaskill has worked for many years in the health and social care sectors across the United Kingdom. A particular professional focus has been issues related to bereavement, palliative care and individual human rights.

He is the CEO of Scottish Care, the representative body for care providers in the independent sector, that is charitable, not for profit, private and employee-owned providers, in Scotland which includes care home and home care organisations.

He sits on a number of charities, Scottish Government working groups and currently is serving on the UK Commission on Bereavement.

Dr Macaskill also chairs the international organising panel which is bringing the Global Ageing Conference to Glasgow in September 2023.
