Jim Crabb
Chair of the General Adult Faculty, Royal College of Psychiatrists in Scotland
Dr Jim Crabb trained as a psychiatrist in London. Here he worked with former child soldier refugees which opened up a path in 2007 to him becoming the fourth psychiatrist in Ghana, West Africa. After helping to develop training schemes in West Africa, Jim returned to Glasgow to complete his specialist training and gain expertise in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Jim has worked as a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry in NHS Forth Valley since 2011. From 2018-2023 he was Associate Medical Director for Mental Health Services in the Board. Jim was able to support the acute general adult psychiatry teams at Forth Valley Royal Hospital to achieve accreditation status from the Royal College of Psychiatrists (for providing excellent care).
