Professor Alison Strath

Professor Alison Strath was appointed Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for Scotland in 2021. As the Scottish Government's senior professional adviser on pharmacy and medicines, she provides strategic and professional leadership for the pharmacy professions and plays a key role in shaping medicines policy across Scotland. Having spent more than two decades working within the Scottish Government, Professor Strath has led major programmes to improve the safe, effective and innovative use of medicines, supporting better outcomes for patients and strengthening the adoption of innovation across Scotland's health and care system.
