Dr Annabel Howell

Annabel trained at the Royal Free Hospital and has held several director-level medical roles across the NHS. As Medical Director of CHAS, she leads medical services, ensuring children with life-limiting conditions, and those who are dying, can access expert medical care in any setting. She contributes to the advisory group for Scotland’s national palliative care strategy and chairs the specialist group for the Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care. Annabel has a particular interest in digital technologies and is undertaking a PhD exploring their role in death, dying and bereavement. She is also Vice Chair of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
