Professor Karen Goudie

Professor Karen Goudie is Executive Nurse Director at NHS Forth Valley and Honorary Clinical Professor at the University of Stirling. She provides strategic leadership for nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals, with a strong focus on quality, patient safety and continuous improvement. Karen has held senior national roles with Healthcare Improvement Scotland and the Scottish Government, contributing to the development of Scotland’s Nursing Quality Management System and leading programmes to enhance care for older people. With a background spanning advanced clinical practice to board level leadership, she is recognised for driving whole system improvement, strengthening governance, and delivering safer, person-centred care.
