Carla qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2005, after 2 years working in an Acute Adult Admission ward she moved over to Psychiatry of Old Age and have never looked back. She has worked as a Community Mental Health Nurse as well as being a Charge Nurse in a functional rehabilitation ward, and in a male dementia ward.

Her current post is a Mental Health Nurse in the Edinburgh Rapid Response Team which is a hospital based community team working with older people in mental health crisis to help prevent admission to hospital. This is a relatively new team which she have been lucky to have been part of since its beginning.
