David graduated as a physiotherapist in 2001 and became the lead orthopaedic physiotherapist in 2005 within Golden Jubilee National Hospital. David formed a key role in development of their Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Programme (ERAS). He moved full time to the Modernising Patient Pathways Programme within the Centre for Sustainable Delivery as Head of Programmes and leads work across multiple Speciality Delivery Groups in improving patient pathways and reduce clinical variation in care. He holds a Visiting Fellowship at the University of Bournemouth and was awarded an MBE in 2020 for service to Health Care.
