Senior Programme Manager – Cancer Performance & Early Diagnosis, Centre for Sustainable Delivery

Diane Primrose graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Marketing and Media. Starting out her career in public relations, Diane worked on high-profile health & justice campaigns including the introduction of the UK’s first Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine. A move to London saw Diane combine her passion for communications and health working as Press & PR Officer at the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society followed by a role at one of the country’s biggest PR firms. 

As Account Director, Diane played a key role in planning and delivering national campaigns for Public Health England, including Be Clear on Cancer. Diane was also the health lead for one of the world’s largest and most successful men’s health charities, Movember.

Diane has worked at the Scottish Government for almost seven years. After three years working on Detect Cancer Early’s (DCE) strategic communications, Diane stepped into the Programme Manager role, leading on the day-to-day delivery of key components of the Scottish Government’s largest cancer programme. 

Now Senior Programme Manager for Early Diagnosis & Cancer Performance, Diane continues to deliver the country’s early diagnosis agenda and leads on establishing the country’s first Early Cancer Diagnostic Centres.
