Dr Chris Deighan is Executive Medical Director for NHS Lanarkshire, having started in this post in January 2023. He trained in Renal Medicine in the West of Scotland, he was appointed as a Consultant Nephrologist in Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 2000, becoming Clinical Director for the Glasgow Renal & Transplant Unit in 2009. He became Chief of Medicine for the North Sector, GG&C in 2015 and subsequently GG&C Deputy Medical Director (Corporate) in 2019 supporting Staff Governance as Deputy Responsible Officer, Clinical Governance, Corporate Planning and eHealth as chair of the GG&C eHealth Strategy Board. During the Covid pandemic he was Deputy Medical Director for NHS Louisa Jordan and led the establishment of acute phlebotomy hubs at across GG&C to support delivery of remote out-patient clinics.
