Dr David Connell

Dr David Connell is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Ninewells Hospital, NHS Tayside, and works in diverse frontline roles including in High Dependency and in Acute Medicine. Dr Connell has interests in the delivery of care in both chronic and acute respiratory infections, including Influenza, and more recently COVID-19. As part of this, Dr Connell helped deliver point of care testing for respiratory viruses to NHS Tayside in 2018 and 2019, and more recently was the Clinical Lead for Winter Planning at NHS Tayside during the Pandemic Winter of 2020-21. Dr Connell is Chair of the Pulmonary Infection Special Advisory Group in the British Thoracic Society, and was a co-opted member of the UK New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (NERVTAG) during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
