Dr Frances Mortimer

Medical Director, Centre for Sustainable Healthcare

Frances Mortimer is Medical Director of The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH) in Oxford, UK, leading the development of their innovative Sustainable Specialties programme, (combines research with practical action to improve patient care at a lower environmental and social cost). Frances identified CSH’s four principles of Sustainable Clinical Practice and developed a framework for incorporating sustainability into quality improvement in healthcare.

Dr Mortimer studied medicine at Oxford University and at the Royal Free & University College London Medical School. Graduating in 2003, she joined the UK National Health Service and continued clinical work in the Oxford Kidney Unit until 2011.
