Paul O’Neill

Service Manager, NHS Lanarkshire

After training as a nurse and gaining a Bsc in Adult Nursing Studies from the University of Strathclyde, Paul spent the early part of his career working in custodial healthcare and following the migration of healthcare services in prisons from the Scottish Prison Service to the National Health Service Paul spent a number of years as Healthcare Manager in HMP Shotts.  Since his ‘liberation’ from prisoner healthcare in 2017 Paul has worked as a Locality Service Manager for South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership with responsibility during this time for a variety of community healthcare services in the Cambuslang and Rutherglen Locality and also experience in the management of a variety of hosted services such as Out of Hours GP Service and School Nursing Service.  Paul is a service manager within the Discharge Without Delay and Home First Services in Lanarkshire working with primary care, acute care and social care colleagues to improve the delivery of health and social care services and delayed discharge performance.
