Mini Plenary Session 3 - Innovating Across the Whole System: Digital Health and Care Supporting Citizens and Service Delivery
11:45 - 13:00
Innovation in health and social care is not only about new technologies and tools. Innovation is about the ways in which we organise and deliver services with across the whole system. The Scottish Government’s vision for Digital Health and Care is “to improve the care and wellbeing of people in Scotland by making best use of digital technologies in the design and delivery of services.”
The strategy draws upon learning and insights gained as digitally enabled services were accelerated as part of the response to the (COVID-19) pandemic. Empowering citizens to gain access to services, is central to these ambitions.
Digitally enabled services play an important role in service recovery and providing new ways to access healthcare.
This session will include an overview of the priorities outlined in the refreshed Digital Health and Care strategy, and will include a focus on one of the key priorities - developing a Digital Front Door to enable citizens to access services. In addition, recognising the crucial role of data in innovation and improvement, the session will include an update on work to deliver the first Data Strategy for Health and Care.
