Welcome and Introduction

Caroline Lamb, Chief Executive of NHS Scotland and Director General Health and Social Care will welcome delegates to this year’s NHS Scotland Event, setting out the programme for the day. 

Mr Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care will also discuss his priorities in his first address to staff at the NHS Scotland Event.

The session will also include an informal interview session between Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director and the Cabinet Secretary.

Caroline Lamb

DG Health and Social Care and Chief Executive NHS Scotland, Scottish Government

Caroline was appointed as DG Health and Social Care and Chief Executive of NHS Scotland in January 2021.

Michael Matheson MSP

Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care, Scottish Government

Prior to becoming an MSP, Mr Matheson practised as a Community Occupational Therapist with Stirling Council, Central Regional Council, and Highland Regional Council.

Professor Jason Leitch, CBE

The National Clinical Director, Scottish Government

Jason is a Scottish Government Director and a member of the Health and Social Care Management Board. He is one of the senior team responsible for the NHS in Scotland.
