Welcome and Opening Address

Caroline Lamb, Chief Executive of NHS Scotland and Director General Health and Social Care will welcome delegates to this year’s NHS Scotland Event, setting out the programme for the day and discussing her priorities for the coming year.  

Mr Neil Gray MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care will also discuss his priorities and vision. 

The session will also include an interview session between Pennie Taylor, Chair of the NHS Scotland Event 2024 and the Cabinet Secretary.

Caroline was appointed as DG Health and Social Care and Chief Executive of NHS Scotland in January 2021.

Neil Gray, MSP

Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care


Neil Gray was born and brought up in Orkney and was educated at Kirkwall Grammar School. He graduated from the University of Stirling in 2008 with a first-class Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in politics and journalism.
