In Conversation with….. The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care

New for 2022, delegates had the opportunity to book onto the highly anticipated ‘In Conversation’ sessions.

These smaller, more informal sessions were designed to produce an intimate atmosphere allowing for an honest and open two way dialogue to take place. To help shape the conversations, each session started with two questions from the hosts. For those who attended the session here is a helpful reminder of the nature of the discussion.

Each conversation was different in detail but they all tied back to similar themes around service and staff resilience, workforce sustainability, working together across multiple agencies to improve health and social care for the people of Scotland.

We’d like to extend our thanks to our Event Chair Pennie Taylor for facilitating these sessions and Ken Darling for visually capturing the conversations through real-time illustrations and to the delegates for actively contributing to these conversations.

In his opening keynote address during Plenary 1, Mr Humza Yousaf, the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care set out his priorities for recovery and reform. To follow up on this, he asked the room the following two questions.

  • What more can we do to take care of your wellbeing?
  • If you were the Cabinet Secretary for Health what is the first change/improvement you would make to our NHS?

Humza Yousaf MSP
