Digital approaches in health and care are integral for recovery and future sustainability.  They can enhance people’s experiences, offer empowerment and flexibility, and ease service pressures.  

Adapting and adjusting the delivery of health and care services is critical to meet the demands of the changing needs of the population. 

Following publication of the Scottish Government’s Delivery Plan for digital health and care, this session will set out the current and future priorities for digital and will showcase examples of innovation in our health and care services. 

The session will include a panel discussion of representatives from across NHS Scotland and partners, and will focus on continuing to expand successful digitally enabled services, working collaboratively with teams across Scotland.   

Delegates attending the session will hear more about how digital advances are improving service delivery, ranging from home and community to acute examples, including: 

• The increased delivery of digital mental health services, with 71,000 referrals in the past year and offering a range of mental health therapies and increased access; 
• Home Monitoring services such as Connect Me allowing people to provide their information through text message, an app, or online; 
• Seer 2.0 hosted on the National Digital Platform, that provides ready access for those delivering health and social care services to timely, near real-time data to provide insight and support decision-making. 
• Understanding of digital maturity across health and social care that supports identification of priorities, funding allocations and measurement of benefits and progress; and 
• How the Accelerated National Innovation Adoption (ANIA) Pathway will deliver a more focused and efficient route for the development of new treatments and methods, and the work of the Centre for Sustainable Delivery (CfSD).
