Leadership and Innovation in our Health and Care System
13:30 – 14:45
In this session, Anne Armstrong, Acting Chief Nursing Officer will explain how policies and practice are supporting leadership and innovation nationally by working collaboratively across professions and directorates.
To illustrate how our health and social care systems are being innovative in their approach to workforce and leadership, the session will highlight examples from two health boards.
Firstly, there will be the opportunity to hear directly from Roy Lawrence, Principal Lead for Organisational Development & Culture NHS Fife about how the Fife Health and Social Care Partnerships have supported their leadership in having the skills to tackle ‘wicked’ problems across their system and the impact this has on services and reform.
Delegates attending the session will also hear from Jen Pennycook, Chief Nurse Professional Development, NHS Ayrshire and Arran about technology enabled CPD and Clinical Support as part of their NMAHP strategy and the impact this has on recruitment and retention.
The session will include a Q&A session led by Fiona Hogg, Chief People Officer, Scottish Government. Delegates will also have the opportunity to put forward questions to the panel members, Justine Craig (Chief Midwife), Carolyn McDonald (Chief Allied Health Professions Officer) and Catherine Ross (Chief Scientific Officer).
